March 2005: Rome and Naples

Rome

I spent the weekend in Rome at the start of March, and as Nicola had to visit his dentist and the Japanese institute, he came up to.

It was a lot of fun, despite the cold and wet weather. We met up with Tea on Saturday and were treated to a nice dinner by the girls.

Naples

We returned to Naples on Sunday afternoon, and met up with Alfredo. He'd organized my accommodation in a good youth hostel in the posh part of town.

On Monday morning I walked through Virgil's park, and then down the seafront. The weather had picked up and I spent a pleasent few hours reading in a sheltered spot on top of the castle.

Alfredo and I met for a late lunch, and whiled away the afternoon and evening in a very relaxed fashion. We met up with Nicola after he'd finished work, but all too soon it was time to head to the airport for the flight home.
